Upon arrival at Namale
I was welcomed by the friendly staff, cheery songs and guitar playing. This
IS a Namale tradition, to welcome guests with song and with a welcome flower
Salu Salu (garland or lei). As usual, Namale is gorgeous and still gets my vote
as one of the most beautiful resorts in Fiji with its trees and flowering scrubs
and fruits that attract so many different types of birds. I was here twice last
year, I can't seem to get enough. Mark Cardoza, our east coast office Manager,
has been here for 2 days and I had a chance to chat with him for a few hours
before he took off for a couple days at J.M. Cousteau Resort about 20 minutes
away. I haven't seen Mark for 18 months, since he moved from Hawaii to Florida.
It was great to catch up and find out how his time in Fiji had been so far.
Mark is on a one week fam of Fiji before going to Hawaii to work in our home
office for a couple weeks while 2 more of our agents come to Fiji.
I was escorted to my Honeymoon Bure, Nanise. This is one of Namale's original
oceanview bures that was upgraded with a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and other
fine touches. In order to get to Nanise, you walk down steps to the sand and
then up steps to the Bure which sits on a coral up-cropping. When you walk out
on your deck, you then walk across a bridge to an even more delightful deck
that looks right out over the ocean and offers a choice of deck chairs or a
hammock. It is one of the most unique Bure's in Fiji. I had never stayed in
Nanise before and found it perfect. Until.... they showed me Tatadra House.
I'm sorry to admit that the minute I walked into Tatadra House I began dropping
hints to my most gracious hosts that THIS Bure (house) really had my name on
it. The next thing I knew they were moving my bags to this 2000 square foot
Dream House where I am writing this review. I am having incredible luck this
trip. Amazingly enough, with all of the visits to Namale, I have never seen
Tatadra House. It has always been occupied when I was here. Let me tell you
a little about this inviting Bungalow with it's own dunking pool, on a cliff,
overlooking the ocean. As you walk into the house you are overwhelmed with the
ocean view that is directly in front of you. The overstuffed couch, large baskets,
multiple flower arrangements, palms and unique antique Indonesian furnishings
draw you further into the house.
